Join Us - Guidelines

Please read the VA guidlines and then either accept them to continue registration or reject them to cancel your application.

AGE CONSENT (a)

1.0 Due to laws at this present time we have decided to bring into action the over 13 years of age rule. This is in place at the registration page for all members to verify that they are over the age of 13. We remind ALL members that if they are suspicious of the age of a member to let admin know at their earliest convenience.

1.1 If a member is proven to be under the predetermined age, the account of the person will be permanently deleted.

CONDUCT (b)

2.0 All Aer Lingus members must conduct themselves in the proper manner while flying for the VA and online. If any Aer Lingus Pilots have any problems with another Aer Lingus Member please let a staff member know immediately. Swearing, bullying, insulting and intimidation will not be tolerated.

2.1 Staff members are able to suspend and delete accounts after consultation with administrators without prior notice if in the presence of the afore mentioned or subject to. An email with reason for suspension / deletion will be sent afterwards.

2.2 Staff decisions are final on such matters and no appeals will be entered into.

2.3 Any posts topics or threads submitted to the Forum that are considered to be detrimental, insulting or of a crude and misappropriate nature will be removed with no notice by the Administrators or Moderators.

FLIGHT REPORTS (c)

3.0 All members MUST use the favored system used by Aer Lingus VA to log and report their flights made for the VA,

3.1 Flight reports will be checked randomly on a frequent basis. Flight reports that are found to have been paused for more than 2 minutes or sim rate applied over x2 will have that flight report deleted. Members who continually use the afore mentioned facilities will be run the risk of being suspended.

3.2 Pilots found to have altered any coding within the favored PIREP logging system, to use on the Aer Lingus system, without prior knowledge of the Webmaster could be banned from the VA indefinitely.

3.3 Unfortunately new members are unable to carry across any hours accumulated from other VA's on joining Aer Lingus VA.


MEMBERS ACCOUNTS (d)

Here at the VA we have different stages of pilot account state these are

  • Unvalidated - registered but has not validated his account yet (REF: 4.0)
  • Active - Are active, flies with the required frequency (REF:4.3)
  • On Leave - Will be away for some time, contact the Membership Manager and place your account as "ON LEAVE"(Pilot Profile) so that we all know what's going on.(REF 4.6)
  • Inactive - Has not been active as requested, has been deactivated pending deletion
  • Suspended - Was suspended for breaching the rules.

4.0
Members must supply valid e-mail address and both their first and last name when registering on the VA. No aliases or nicknames are allowed. If the member has already registered and did not submit data correctly, he/she can edit the record by logging into the account and entering the pilot profile section. The member is responsible for keeping these information up to date.

4.1 Member not submitting the data pursuant to provisions of 4.0 will be warned by an e-mail. Failure to correct the situation within one week from such e-mail will result in account deletion.

4.2 All new members must validate their account by flying and logging a flight over 30 minutes duration within 7 days of registering. If no hours are logged in this period of time a warning e-mail stating that the account is pending deletion will be sent. If no hours are logged within next 48 hours the account will be deleted permanently.

4.3 Each member has to log a VA flight at least once every 31 days. User failing to observe this rule will be sent a warning e-mail. If no flight is logged in next 5 days the account will be set Inactive.

4.4 Each member with an inactive or on-leave account may reactivate it by filing a PIREP, either online or via FSLog.

4.5 Accounts being Inactive for 6 months or more will be deleted permanently. The respective member will be warned two weeks prior such deletion via e-mail.

4.6 Each member may set his account "on leave" if he/she cannot meet the criteria laid down in 4.3. While the account is in "on leave" state, provisions of 4.3 do not apply.

4.7
The account may remain in "on leave" state for maximum 2 months in 12 months. Accounts being set "on leave" for a longer time will be set Inactive and the user will be notified by an e-mail. Rules of 4.4 and 4.5 apply. Accounts set on leave will become inactive after 2 months and normal inactivity rules will apply. You cannot request leave again for 6 months without prior approval by the membership manager.

4.8 Members will only hold one account within the VA. If more than one account is found for the same user, and is operating under one user this will result in all accounts being suspended indefinitely and then deleted without prior notice.The only exception to this will be for the purpose of admin.

4.9 Members must fly the Company call sign online. Flying other call signs and logging the hours on the Aer Lingus system is strictly forbidden. If you are caught you will be expelled, by all means join VA 's at your leisure but do not fly their call sign and log the hours on our site

4.10 If these rules require an e-mail to be sent to a member but the e-mail address provided by the member is invalid, bouncing or the member failed to provide an address at all, the respective message will be posted to the forum.

4.11 The CEO and/or Administration staff reserve the right to block access to the site,refuse membership to new registrations, if deemed necessary for administrative purpose

TEAMSPEAK SERVER (e)

4.4 Aer Lingus VA operates our own Teamspeak server. (address ts12.light-speed.com:8119) Members are respectfully asked to restrict the language to English speaking only as this is the majority language. Members who constantly refrain can be asked to leave the channel or kicked from the channel with a reason being supplied. If they still persist a ban from the server will be put into place.

4.5 Members are asked to log on with Christian name THEN shamrock Pilot id . For example David - EIN123. Don't forget the hyphen in the middle.

4.6 We are all adults and a certain amount of swearing will be tolerated. However verbal bullying, racial abuse to members will not and will result in a permanent ban if deemed necessary by the Staff.

4.7 Staff or members are not permitted to make alterations to the Teamspeak set up (Channel Building, Channel Deleting ) without approval from the CEO.

If youd like to give it a go (either network) then meet on the teamspeak channel around 9.15 for a 10am departure. You can expect to arrive to most destinations at around 5pm Dublin time.
